On Tuesday afternoon the funeral of the late William Lewis left his parents'
residence, Lemongrove Hotel, Plattsburg,. for the new cemetery. The
arrangements, in the hands of Mr. G.Froome, were carried out most credit
ably. A very large and sympathetic concourse of people followed the re
mains of the unfortunate young man to their last resting place. The Rev.
B. Kenny officiated at the grave, and delivered a very touching address to,
those assembled. He bore testimony to the many excellent qualities of the
deceased who, he was a~are, had by his upright and amiable bearing won
the respect and esteem of all who knew him. Numerous and beautiful wreaths
were sent from all parts of the district, and the greatest sympathy is felt here
for the bereaved family.
