Elizabeth C. McCann was born on June 29, 1935 in Atlanta, GA to Thomas and Mary (nee Lichtenwalter) Couch. She died Monday, April 10, 2017 in Arlington Heights. Elizabeth worked as a volunteer art teacher in School District 25. She was a member of Infant Welfare, Arlington Heights Chapter, Past PTA President of Windsor Elementary School and Thomas Junior High in Arlington Heights. An accomplished artist, working in clay sculpture and mixed media painting, she tutored young students in art, and traveled internationally with her husband Mike. Elizabeth loved to spend time with her family and was loved by all. Elizabeth is survived by her spouse of 56 years, Mike, whom she married February 11, 1961 in Atlanta, GA; her sons, Stuart (Deanna) McCann and Paul McCann; grandsons, Hutson and Lance McCann; siblings, Thomas (Iris) Couch and Jane (Gordon) Jones; nieces, Kathy (Glen) Jaeckel, Elizabeth (Mark) Hill and Jennifer (Jeff) Jeter. Visitation Thursday, April 13, 2017 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road (4 blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Memorial Service 11:00 am, Friday, April 14, 2017 at the funeral home. Interment is private.
