Born in Shamokin on July 24, 1939, he was a son of the late Anthony J. and Victoria (Wasilewski) Dorkoski. He lived in Coal Township all his life.
He was a 1957 graduate of Coal Township High School and worked for Sunbury Textile Mills for 35 years until his retirement as a loom technician.
He was married Nov. 17, 1962, in St. Michael Church, Shamokin, to the former Christine Kozar, who survives.
He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Hope Church and the former St. Stephen Church, both of Coal Township. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, never missing any of their school plays, ballet and violin recitals, gymnastic programs and sporting events.
In addition to his wife, surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Anthony M. and Lisa Dorkoski of Elysburg; two daughters and sons-in-law, April and Wilbur Fegley of Harrisburg and Andrea and Tim Foreman of Hershey; a brother, John "Yanek" Dorkoski of Shamokin; six grandchildren, Victoria, Elizabeth, Diana and Nicholas Dorkoski of Elysburg, Christopher Fegley of Harrisburg and Hailey Foreman of Hershey, and several nephews, nieces and cousins. He was preceded in death by a sister, Sylvia Buriak of Shamokin, in 2002.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Hope Church, Chestnut and First streets, Coal Township. The Mass will be celebrated by a Fransican friar. Burial will be at All Saints Cemetery, Bear Gap. Viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with a Christian wake service at 6:15 p.m., and from 8:30 to 9:20 a.m. Thursday at Leonard J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 120 S. Market St., Shamokin. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, 1 N. Market St., Shamokin 17872.
