Graveside services for J. C. Ashley, 89, of Roff are 2:00 p.m. Monday at Pontotoc Cemetery.
Mr. Ashley passed away Thursday, June 11, 2020 at the Sulphur VA Center. He was born March 16, 1931 at Hickory to Bob and Ruby Cochran Ashley. He lived in this area all his life and graduated from Fitzhugh High School.
Mr. Ashley retired after 31 years of service from Holcim Cement Plant in Ada. He had served four years in the U. S. Navy from 1950 -1954. Mr. Ashley was a member of Sunshine Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing and horse racing.
Survivors include his nieces and nephews, Paula Kay and Dickie Maxey, Sherris Goodwin Kauffman, Rodney Goodwin, Pamela Mosely and Justin Rose, Lannie and Missy Ashley, Rhonda Ashley and Todd Byrd, Lorin Ashley, Misty and B. J. Anglin, Brandy and Darrin Ames, Chace and Bobbie Ashley, Kacey and Ronnie Bass, Aiden Ashley, Brennen Ashley, Shelly Burk, Darrell and Roxann Carlos, Darrick Carlos, Dink and Amber Carlos, Justin Ashley, Austin Ashley, and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; three sisters, Wauldine Borden, Euna Ashley and Carma Jean Goodwin; and a brother, R. B. Ashley.
Bearers will be Darrell Carlos, Dink Carlos, Darrick Carlos, Cache and Briar Anglin, Caleb Ames, Drew Ames, Blaine Burk, Connor Burk, Colton Rankin, Austin Ashley and Justin Ashley. Honorary bearers will be Buddy Brents and Joe David Roberts.
