Martha began working for Eastfield College upon its opening in 1970, serving as an administrative assistant for over 35 years until her retirement in 2006. She enjoyed her work and made many life long friends there, including her best friend, Helen Butler.
Martha found great pleasure in spending time with her family, watching her children and grandchildren grow. She was happiest when she was with her family, no matter the occasion. She was an amazing example of how to love your family. She lent her strength and courage to them and they all are better for it.
Martha loved to country and western dance. Her daughters inherited her love for dancing and they danced together until the very end. She danced in the kitchen, she danced in the street, she danced in the dirt, and she may have danced on every dance floor in the Dallas area. She danced wherever she would go. She shared her love of dancing by teaching dance lessons for several years. Through this, her legacy lives on.
Martha will be remembered for her humor and wit. She will be missed by many. She was loved by many more. She will forever dance in the hearts of her family.
Charitable contributions in her name may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
