Fred Earl Bennett, Jr., age 77, passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at his home in Poteet, Texas. Fred was born on February 23, 1943 to Mable Lynn and Fred Earl Bennett, Sr. in Greenville, Texas.

Captain Bennett proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 23 years before retiring on February 1, 1989. During his military time, he served meritoriously in the Vietnam War having earned several medals and commendations for his actions during military operations. Previous to this he attended East Texas State University earning a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology and sociology.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mable Lynn Bennett-Tisdale, and father, Fred Earl Bennett, Sr. Fred is survived by his wife of 52 years, sons and their wives, grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
