Private Family Graveside for Mr. James Charles Chambers, 79, of Monroe, LA will be held at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe, LA with Rev. Norman Bryant officiating. Mr. Chambers went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 8, 2020, at 12:01 AM. He was a native of Morehouse Parish; however, after going to NLU in Monroe in 1958, he and his wife Carolyn’s residence was primarily in Monroe.

Mr. Chambers is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Ann Willis Chambers; parents, Rev. and Mrs. F.C. Chambers; two sisters, Charlotte Haynes and Nelline Eldridge.

He is survived by daughter, Chalica Chambers Thompson; three sons, Chuck Chambers, Chris Chambers, and Dr. Craig Chambers (Nancey); eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, great- grandfather, and friend who will be missed by his family, and friends.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in honor of his beloved grandson, Jeremy Thompson.

“Daddy: You have traveled a long way with many trials and tribulations. The road has not been easy, but your rest is just and due. So go rest high on that mountain, your work on Earth is done, and you leave behind a legacy which will live on in the ones that love you and cherish the time we had with you. – Your loving Family.
