Anastasios “Steve” Demetre Gerakinis age 81, met his Lord and Savior on June 1st, 2020. He was born in Skopelos, Greece and immigrated to the United States in 1966. He became a naturalized citizen in 1972.He was preceded in death by his father, Demetrius and mother, Ourania Gerakinis, brother, Riginos Gerakinis, and sister, Mache Yanapolis, brother in Law, Alex Hatzidrosis, all of Skopelos, Greece as well as Dwight Cooper, Frances Cook, and Wayne Squires all of Grand Rapids, Michigan. He is survived by his wife, Lois Gerakinis, Son, James (Heather) Gerakinis, Daughter, Joyce(Ed )Tripp, Grandchildren: Micah, Jessie, and Jenna Gerakinis; Joshua, Josiah, and Jenessa Tripp, all of West Michigan. Brothers: Panayote and Spiro Gerakinis, Sister, Lilye Hatzidrosis all of Skopelos, Greece. Brother in Law, Vasily Yanapolis, of Skopelos, Jack (Sue) Cook and Sisters in Law, Marge (Mike) Gondick, Helen Squires, and Barbara Cooper and many nieces and nephews.He was married for 54 years to his loving wife Lois and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan where he served the Lord as an Usher and Deacon. He was a Machinist for Keeler Brass Company, Grand Rapids, MI for 35 years. He enjoyed bowling, watching sports and time with his family. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday June 8 at Trinity Baptist Church. 2050 Aberdeen NE. Grand Rapids, MI 49505. Visitation at 10 am with service to follow at 11 am.
