Mrs. Sullivan was born September 23, 1933 in Varnville, a daughter of the late Russell and Venie Cook Polk. She was a homemaker and devoted her life to taking care of her family. Mrs. Sullivan had been active with the Jahab "Honeys" at the Jahab Shrine Club and enjoyed working with her flowers at home. She attended Hickory Grove Baptist Church.
Surviving are her daughters: Cathy S. Kinsey and husband Allen of Orangeburg, Debra S. Guthrie and husband Robert of St. Helena Island and Nancy Sullivan of Brunson; son: Bobby Sullivan, Jr. of Brunson; sister: Virginia Smith of Brunson; brother: Randolph Polk of Varnville; eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Mrs. Sullivan was predeceased by her husband: Bobby Gene Sullivan; brothers: Vernon Polk, Elliott C. Polk and Lossie Polk; and a sister: Bernice P. Gooding.
Funeral services will be 2 PM Tuesday in the Chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home conducted by Rev. R.P. Hodge with burial in the Fairfax Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 7 PM at the Chapel in Hampton located at 300 Mulberry Street West.
