Miss Smith wed John A. J. Moore, a farmer, on the 24th of November 1864 here in Warwick. The Rev. E. H. Blanchard united them. Secondly, Sarah married John E. Batchelder, a farmer, on April 3, 1888 at Warwick. Edmund Squire performed the ceremony.

Sarah's gravestone does not mention her second husband. Her name has been left as Moore on this memorial, to lessen confusion, in case a graver finds her stone and photographs it.
