Edith was born October 23, 1936, in Queen City, Texas to Bryant Ervin and Velma Hill Kinney. She was a retired Electronic Technician for Red River Army Depot and, with her husband, was a Gate Attendant for Rocky Point Camp for 12 years. Edith was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Paul Kinney.
She is survived by her husband, Charles W. Davis of Simms, Texas; two daughters and one son-in-law, Delia and Tommy Ray, Sr. of Simms, Texas and Ellia Schooley of Simms, Texas; one son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Polly Davis of New Boston, Texas; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Gerald Draper of Texarkana, Texas, Dolores and Bill Hurst of Simms, Texas, and Diana and Steve Chatnik of Richmond, Virginia; one brother and sister-in-law, David and Mary Kinney of Texarkana, Texas; six grandchildren, Sharon and Lyle Butler, Tommy and Tabitha Ray, Jr., Justin Davis, Prestin and Jessica Davis, Jacob and Bailey Schooley, and Kaleb and Christina Schooley; t thirteen great grandchildren, KayLee Butler, Mattie Butler, Isabella Schooley, Ayden Schooley, Kayson Schooley, Riley Schooley, Marilyn Ray, Grace Davis, Levi Davis, Brady Davis, Emilynn Schooley, Jaceson Schooley, and Jaysyn Schooley; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at the Sand Hill Cemetery Pavilion in Simms, Texas with Rev. Steve Minter officiating.
Come and go visitation will be held 2:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas.
