He served two years in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of American Legion Post 248 for 53 years.

Survived by his sisters, Nita Mayeux of Baton Rouge, Eloise Ducote of Port Allen, Melba Bordelon of Alexandria, Nell Hurst and husband John of Opelousas; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lynn and Mildred Langlois of New Roads, Edward and Nelma Langlois of Opelousas, and Albin and Barbara Langlois of New Roads; and numerous nieces and nephews.
