He grew up on Poydras Plantation and was a graduate of Poydras High School.

He served two years in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of American Legion Post 248 for 53 years.

Preceded in death by his parents, George Sr. and Nita Morel Langlois; his brothers, George Jr., Perry and John; and a sister, Sedonia.

Survived by his sisters, Nita Mayeux of Baton Rouge, Eloise Ducote of Port Allen, Melba Bordelon of Alexandria, Nell Hurst and husband John of Opelousas; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lynn and Mildred Langlois of New Roads, Edward and Nelma Langlois of Opelousas, and Albin and Barbara Langlois of New Roads; and numerous nieces and nephews.
