Mrs. Enid Kathleen Matthews Crawford, 91, of 2520 Clovis St., Bluefield, died Friday, August 5, 1994 in a Bluefield hospital. Born in Bluefield, she was a daughter of the late Henry Walker Matthews and Lula Bailey Matthews.
She was a lifelong resident of Bluefield and member of one of its pioneering families, the James Buchanan Bailey Family. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bluefield since 1922.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander Crawford; one son, Edward A. Crawford, Jr.; one brother, Harold Matthews; and one sister, Olga McDaniel.
Survivors include one son, Richard Flanner Crawford of Bluefield; one brother, Eric W. Matthews of Bluefield; and a special nephew, Dr. E. Bowie Kahle of Huntington.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. today from the Mercer Funeral Home Chapel in Bluefield with Dr. W.D. Hasty. Jr., officiating. Burial will follow at 11 a.m. Monday at Monte Vista Park Cemetery.
Friends may call from noon to 3 p.m. today at the funeral home. Those wishing to attend the committal service should be at the cemetery by 10:45 a.m. Monday.
