Doris Louise Cothern Morgan Hamel, 74, of McComb, died May 15, 2004, at Southwest Regional Medical Center.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Catchings Funeral Home in McComb. Visitation continues Monday at 10 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. J. Frank Smith officiating. Burial will be in Reeves Cemetery.
Mrs. Hamel was born Aug. 24, 1929, in Pricedale. She was the daughter of Milton Cothern and Syvette Mulford Cothern.
She was a homemaker and a member of Bogue Chitto Baptist Church at Carter's Creek.
Mrs. Hamel is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband Bracey "J.P." Morgan Sr.; one son, Bracey Morgan Jr.; one daughter, Patricia Ann Morgan; and five brothers, J.R. Cothern, George Cothern, Arthur Cothern, Luther Cothern and Junior Cothern.
She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Kenneth Paul Hamel of McComb; three sons: James and wife Jo-Ann Morgan, and Marvin and wife Cindy Morgan, all of Fernwood, and Donald Morgan of McComb; one sister, Lottie Young of Kenner, La.; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a very special niece, Jessie Cummins of Fernwood.
