Rembert Hancock, age 78, of Fairmount, Georgia passed away Thursday, June 4, 2020 at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital. He was born August 3, 1941 to Columbus and Parilee Hancock in Jasper.

Rembert is survived by his wife of 61 years, Josey Hancock; sons, Junior and Shelia Hancock of Fairmount, Gary and Jean Hancock of Talking Rock, James and Jeno Hancock of Jasper; brother, Dennis Hancock; grandchildren, Jennifer and Casey Loudermilk, Jason and Stacia Hancock, Regina and Kevin Reddin, Michael and Hayley Hancock, Dustin and Courtney Hancock, Mackenzie Hancock, Kelsie Hancock; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Columbus and Parilee Hancock; sisters, Reva Mae Hamrick, Helen Jordan and Magdlene Burton.

Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 7, 2020 at Friendship Baptist Church with Reverend Grant Wade, Reverend Jason Hancock, Reverend Stacey Smith, and Reverend Buck Parker officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home, Friday, June 5, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Saturday, June 6, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., and Sunday, June 7, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory.
