Death of James Douglas McKnight Occurred At Newton, Ill., After Lingering Illness
Funeral Was Saturday

James Douglas McKnight passed away in the City Hospital at Newton, Ill., after a lingering illness of appendicitis and stomach complications, his condition having become so serious before he was removed to the hospital that an operation was deemed inadvisable.

He was born on the farm east of this city now known as the Will Stipp farm to Samuel and Samantha McKnight, prominent pioneers of the county, in 1855.
In his early manhood he was married to Nancy Younger and to them were born two children, the daughter, Mrs. Stella Hines, of near Salem, surviving.

Several years after his wife had passed away he was united in marriage to Kittie Younger who with their two sons, Thomas and Joseph survive. He is also survived by three sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Thomas Younger, Mrs. Elza Johnson, Robert and Will Elmer McKnight, of this city and Mrs. John Alexander, of Linton.

Mrs. Thomas Younger, Elza Johnson and Addison Younger left Thursday for Newton, Ill., to attend the funeral which will take place Saturday afternoon at Newton followed by interment in the Newton Cemetery.
