From the back cover of "God's Man in China" abridged version edited by Phylys Thompson: -

"Mrs Howard Taylor wrote several biographies of missionaries and Chinese Christians, including 'Behind the Ranges', 'Borden of Yale', and 'The Triumph of John & Betty Stam'.
Together with her husband, Hudson Taylor's eldest son, Mrs Taylor tackled her biggest assignment: the biography of the China Inland Mission's founder.
Howard and Geraldine had gone to China as part of "The Hundred." Now they withdrew to Switzerland where they devoted themselves entirely for eleven year to the completion of the two volume original [, God's Man in China]."
