Obituary - Mobley-Dodson Funeral Service
Alvin J. Richardson, age 85 of Sand Springs went to his new home in Heaven, Saturday evening, June 23, 2007.

Mr. Richardson was born on July 14, 1921 in Sallisaw, Okla., the son of Jim and Ollie (Daniels) Richardson. He grew up and attended school in the Sallisaw area. Following his schooling he farmed for a while until joining the United States Navy and served in the Pacific during World War II on an Aircraft carrier. Following his service to his Country he returned to Sallisaw where he worked at various places before he moved to the Tulsa area. He worked for the Tulsa Public Schools as a Carpenter Foreman for over twenty years. He was united in marriage to Sylvia Tweedy on May 25, 1940 in Sallisaw. This marriage resulted in three children, Carolyn, Alvin, Jr. and Robin. Sylvia preceded him in death on March 16, 1981. He later was united in marriage to Wanda L. Chalk on March 20, 1992 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. He attended the New Home Free Will Baptist Church in Berryhill and later was attending the Trinity Baptist Church in Sand Springs. He enjoyed fishing, watching baseball and spending time with his family.

Alvin is survived by his wife Wanda of the home in Sand Springs; two daughters, Carolyn Eason and husband Hershal of Glenpool, Robin Fox and husband Tim of Glenpool; a son Alvin Richardson, Jr. of Mounds; five grandchildren, Jeffery Eason, Jennifer (Eason) Frye, Todd Richardson, Jared Fox, Leslee Fox; four great grandsons, James Downey Eason, Jack Eason, Tristan Richardson, Layton Rowan and two brothers, Shelby Richardson and wife Doris of Sallisaw and Kenneth Richardson and wife Letha of Muldrow; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sylvia, his parents, two sisters and one brother.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at the Trinity Baptist Church in Sand Springs with the Reverend Joe Reeves officiating. Interment will be in the Woodland Memorial Park in Sand Springs under the direction of the Mobley-Dodson Funeral Service of Sand Springs. Visitation will be held from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Mobley-Dodson Funeral Home.
