Born 5/1/1929 in Jamestown, ND. Died 5/19/2020 in Roseville, MN of natural causes. Born on the family farm in Jamestown, ND. The family moved to the Brainerd, MN area, where Leona graduated from Brainerd High School. She moved to Minneapolis after graduation for further schooling and worked as a cashier for National Food Stores, where she met her future husband Earl. After beginning their family in south Minneapolis, Leona & Earl moved to Columbia Heights, where they raised 6 children. Leona was a nurturing mom to her rambunctious brood. She eventually returned to National Foods and worked at various north metro locations. Once the grocery chain exited the Twin Cities market, Leona and Earl moved to Cedar Falls, IA and co-owned DEEL's SuperValu. After retirement, they settled in Monticello, MN and enjoyed their golden years together. After Earl's passing, Leona moved to Roseville, MN to be closer to her family.
Preceded in death by parents Teofil & Mary; siblings Leonard, Ernest, Mary, & Donald; husband Earl; daughter Gwen.
