Mrs. Alice Bowles Fowler, 78 years old, widow of Charles Fowler, died at 7:15 o'clock this morning at her home on Fayette street, Dunbar, after a month's illness.
Born at Bowlesville, Va., she had resided at Dunbar for 41 years. The Virginia community was named in honor of her father. Her husband preceded her in death February 27, 1941.
Surviving are two sons, George T. Fowler of Scottdale and Walter Fowler of Pittsburgh, and three daughters, Margaret, Carrie and Bernice, all at home. There are also eight grandchildren.
She was a member of the Wesley Methodist Church of Dunbar and Athens Temple, Pythian Sisters, of Connellsville of which she was a past chief.
The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at the home. Internment will be in Green Ridge Memorial Park at Pennsville in charge of Funeral Director James T. Burhans of Dunbar.
