Roy was born in Bauxite to Goebel and Alma Blacklock. At seventeen, he joined the U.S. Navy and proudly served during World War II aboard the U.S.S. Essex. After the war, Roy returned home to his wife in Bryant, where they raised four children while he worked at Reynolds. Roy and Ruth spent the bulk of their golden years camping and fishing in Hot Springs and enjoying their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruth; two sons, Charles Blacklock and David Blacklock; and one granddaughter, Rhonda Blacklock, and three brothers, George, Garland, and Grover.
Roy is survived by his son, Joey Blacklock of Bossier City, his daughter, Janice Porter of Bryant, and three sisters Barbara Floyd of Salem, Alene Crawford and Doris Wood, both of Bryant. Roy will be also missed by his nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren as well as his everyday companion, his dog Cody, and many friends.
