Genevieve Agatha Billings Reddick, 92, passed away peacefully, with a smile on her face on May 26, 2020. She was surrounded by the love of her daughters and granddaughters within the comfort of her home.

Genny was born June 23, 1927 to Mordous Famous and Genevieve Pinell Billings in Plaquemines, Louisiana, where she was most known by Tulle. She grew up with 4 gregarious brothers who have since also went to be with the Lord.

She shared in the adventures with her father, brothers, and with the homemaking skills of her mother, Genny grew into a sort of a Renaissance woman. Literally, there was nothing she could not or would not do - and she did do a lot in her long life.

She married her love, Jake Reddick, in Louisiana and was with him until his final breath almost 33 years ago. They had a love for their children, socializing, and golf. Together they raised David, Karen, Janis, Sandra, and Susan in DeFuniak Springs.

Through her life she had a love for photography and owned an array of businesses, including a sewing shop, cake bakery and the famous hot dog stand beside Twin Lake Superette. She loved creating cakes for the celebrations of the lives of the ones around her. She was also well known for the creation of costumes, hand sewn gowns, outfits complete with her custom tag sewn in.

In the years since, you could find her mastering the ladies tee’s at DeFuniak Springs County Club - her prideful brag surrounded her appearance on the Golf Channel for 2 of her 5 hole in ones, gloating on her scrabble skills, creating homemade butterfly crafts for her home, spray painting something, outside gardening and putting seed out for the birds she loved to watch.

She definitely passed on her determination, independence, craftiness, persistence, and just sheer will to do whatever she put her mind to without caring what anyone thought, to the women in her family. We love her most for that feistiness she exuded.

Genevieve is survived by her son, David Reddick and his wife Lisa, their daughters, Casey, Hannah, and Brittany and sons, Michael, Jason and Nathan; daughter Karen Kullman and husband Curt, their daughters Amanda & Samantha; daughter Janis Burke (and has already met her late husband Dusty in heaven by now) their daughter Kansas and son Adam; daughter Sandra Carter and her husband Eddie, their son Blon and daughter Morgan; and daughter Susan White and her husband Bill and their sons Jacob, Daniel, and James.

From her 15 grandchildren, who affectionately called her Gmaw, she has been blessed with 37 great-grandchildren, with the 38th on the way.

The one thing she loved to do was brag on her big family. She will be missed by all who knew her…her funny laugh, her dance moves, her willingness to tag along with our antics, her golf swing, her smile, and that twinkle in her eye- which told you that you she was up to something.

Those servings as pallbearers will be Adam Burke, Blon Carter, Kevin Hulion, Jacob White, Daniel White, James White. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Reddick, Jason Reddick and Nathan Reddick.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 29, 2020, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, 1015 Pleasant Ridge Road, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435 with Reverend Mahlon LeCroix officiating. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Committal services will follow in Magnolia Cemetery.

Flower arrangements are being accepted or donations can be made in her honor to Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.
