A lifelong resident of Virginia, he was an U.S. Air Force World War II veteran, having served in the Pacific Theater. He retired from NASA after 35 years of service. He was a member of Second Presbyterian Church where he was active in the men's bible class. He was also a member of the Retired NASA Men's Club and Ruritan Club. He was a graduate of Hampton High School and the NASA Apprentice School. He was a lifelong Crabber.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 56 years, one son, and two nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 26, at Peninsula Funeral Home. A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m., officiated by the Rev. Dr. Robin E. Wooddell. Peninsula Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
