FREDRICK KASTEN Fred Kasten, 67, of Rt. 1, Maribel, died Friday afternoon at a Marshfield Hospital. Funeral services will be at 2 pm Monday at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Maribel. The Rev. Armin Engel will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. Mr. Kasten was born Oct. 31, 1907 in the Town of Cooperstown, son of the late Albert and Emelia Kohn Kasten. He married Ruth Engelbrecht in 1931. She preceded him in death in February of 1947. He married Malvina Salta Rott April 23, 1951 at Chicago. At one time he operated a tavern at Rosecrans and was a crane operator in the construction business most of his life. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jerome of Manitowoc and Wallace of Rt. 3, Luxemburg; a daughter, Mrs. Dale (Gladys) Umnus of Manitowoc; two brothers, Raymond of Rt. 3, Manitowoc and August of Maribel; four sisters, Mrs. Beata Gauger of Manitowoc and Mrs. Clara Ihlenfeldt, Mrs. Ruth Duescher and Mrs. Elsie Kratz of Rt. 1, Luxemburg; 10 grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Two brothers and a sister preceded him in death. Friends may call at Knutson Funeral Home, Denmark; after 2 pm Sunday until 11 am Monday at the church until the time of service.
