Everta "Buddie" Ann (Ward) Childress, age 81, a lifelong Coalgate resident, went to be with the Lord on May 22, 2020 at Coalgate, OK. She was born on December 2, 1938, to Mike L. & Madeline (McCorkle) Ward, at Ada, OK. She attended Coalgate Schools. Buddie Ann worked closely with her only sibling, John W. Ward, at the Coalgate Tag Office and over 35 devoted years at the Circle N Market in Coalgate. Buddie Ann eloped with James (Jimmy) Madison Childress on June 15, 1956 at Las Vegas, NV. They shared 43 beautiful years of marriage together before he preceded her in death on July 8, 1996. Buddie Ann was a faithful Christian and lifelong member of the Coalgate Church of Christ. She loved the OKC Thunder, playing Canasta with her Canasta ladies; yet her greatest joy was her children.
