Death Of Leslie Blue At Home South Of Town
Victim of Acute Attack of Appendicitis and Succumbs After Short Illness and Operation
Wednesday morning of last week Leslie Blue passed away at his home southeast of Maxwell after a short illness of acute appendicitis. Mr. Blue had been ailing for some time but did not consider himself seriously ill. Monday his suffering became intense and examination revealed the cause appendicitis in an advanced stage. An operation was performed at the home Tuesday, but the patient failed to rally and died Wednesday morning.
Robert Leslie Blue was born in Story county December 3, 1877, and was the eldest of a family of four children, being thirty-nine years, seven months and nine days old at the time of his death.
Since his father's death in 1912 he has had the responsibility of the home and did everything possible to insure the comfort and pleasure of his mother and the other members of the family.
Deceased leaves a mother, a sister Mrs. Thursey Kendig, and two brothers, Charles and Myrle Blue, to mourn his death, besides a host of friends.
The funeral was held from the home Thursday afternoon at 2:00, Rev. E. D. Fischel, of Yale, officiating, with burial in the Brethren cemetery. There was an exceptionally large attendance at the funeral, attesting to the esteem in which the deceased was held. The sorrowing mother, brothers and sister have the sympathy of all in their great loss.
