James Vernon Wilson, Age 88, Of Portland, Passed away on May 22nd, 2020 at Sumner Regional Medical Center. Mr. Wilson was born in Portland on January 12th, 1932 to the late Charles Vernon Wilson & Maggie Lou West-Wilson.

In addition to his parent, Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his siblings, Homer B. Edens, Jewell Taylor, Thelma Sue Dixon, Opal Lucille Wilson, Winne Wilson, & Linda Wilson.

Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife, Wilbur Mayzelle Cron Wilson; son, Byrom (Denise) of Portland; granddaughter, Victoria Wilson of Russellville, KY; sisters, Etta Mann of Cross Plains & Charlene (Bob) Eaton of Alabama.

Mr. Wilson was a veteran in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956. He was also a contractor for 60 years building homes for the local community, a farmer, a member of the Chamber of Commerce, built floats for the Portland Strawberry parade, & was the president of the Band Boosters for 10 years.

Funeral for Mr. Wilson will be at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, May 26th, 2020 at Clearview Church of Christ with Bro. James Parker officiating.

Visitation for Mr. Wilson will be on Monday, May 25th, 2020 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Wilkinson & Wiseman Funeral Home & on Tuesday, May 26th, 2020 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Clearview Church of Christ.

Interment will be in Bush's Chapel cemetery with Military Honors.
