OBITUARY: Palestine (TX) Herald-Press, Tuesday, 6 August 1952:

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 4 p.m. at the Elkhart Baptist Church for H. E. Elliott, age 85, who died Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at his home in Elkhart. The Rev. U. VanSickle will officiate, and burial will be in the Elkhart Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife; five sons, Foy of Wortham, Wash of Levelland, Jack of Corpus Christi, Howard of Fort Worth, Wayne of Chicago, Ill.; two daughters, Mrs. Alyne Welch of Cleburne and Mrs. Lorene Treasti of Renton, Wash., and seven grandchildren.
