COLVILLE - Alice Colville, died December 23, 2001. She was born December 7, 1919, Alice Hazel Bernard, in Holdenville, Okla. Alice was preceded in death by her mother Tissie M. (Fennell), father James Elmer Bernard, and her sister Myrtle Roberts.
She is survived by daughter, Joan, wife of Patrick Woolley, sister Alta Jewel, wife of Wayne Fite. Grandson Kevin Woolley and wife Tiffani, two grandchildren Joshua and Rachael. Nephew Wandell Allen Fite. Nieces Treda Jane (Fite) wife of Butch Caldwell, Marjorie Jean (Roberts) wife of Jack Milliman, Betty Jo (Roberts) wife of Lewis Hogue. She was also survived by her 12 year old beloved cat, Angel.
Alice would jokingly tell everyone she met, "The best part of a man was his hair," for Alice spent most of her life working both as a manicurist and hair stylist in many of Oklahoma City's prominent Men's Style Shops. She started and operated for two years "THAT'S IT BARBER SHOP," in the west Oil Center Co. Buildings. When asked her name, she would often reply "I am Alice in Wonderland."
Once while giving a manicure to, then actor, Ronald Reagan, at the old downtown, Biltmore Hotel Barber Shop, she said, "You should run for President, you would win."
One of her most cherished gifts was remembering friends and families with a call on their birthday. During her entire life, Alice's willingness to give rather than receive, made her loved by all, especially God.
Services for Alice will be held, at 1 p.m. Friday, December 28, 2001 in the Chapel at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery. Smith & Kernke 1401 NW 23rd ST.
