Floy Lusk Baxter, age 91, of Dover, passed from this life into the Heavens, Sunday, May 17, 2020. Loved by all who knew her, she gave herself unselfishly with grace and thanksgiving. She was truly a Proverbs 31 virtuous woman.
She was born September 9, 1928, at Fredrick, Oklahoma to Benjamin Harrison and Clara Mae Stephens-Lusk. She was one of 11 children. Married October 26, 1946, to George Herschel Baxter, together they raised six children. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking and gardening.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Barbara Ann Manning; and nine siblings.
Left to enjoy the memories are her children and their spouses, Gloria Baxter, Trudy and James Stacy Sr., Wanda and Paul Smith, Sandra Smith, George Dwayne and Cheryl Baxter; her brother and sister-in-law, Earl and Sharon Lusk; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 20, 2020, in East Point Cemetery with Pastor Don Stiles officiating and under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
The family would like to thank all the RN’s and CNA’s that helped in the care of Floy and the blessing of Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be her grandson’s and great-grandsons.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests all donations go to Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home, 220 John Babish Lane, Russellville, Arkansas 72801.
