Mrs. Vandella "Susie" Mae Greene Adams, 88 of Lenoir, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 17, 2020 at the Shaire Center in Lenoir.

She was born in Wilkes County on August 13, 1931 to the late Turner Green and late Dulce Younce Green. Mrs. Adams was a member of Poarch Chapel Missionary Methodist Church. She loved her church and singing for the Lord. Mrs. Adams worked for many years at Lenoir Health Care as a Nursing Assistant.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Woodruff; one son, Brent Greene; one daughter, Delena McCarty; and a son-in-law, Terry Gilbert.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Michael Greene and wife Sue, and George Greene Jr. and wife Karen, all of Lenoir; daughters, Dare Pruette and husband Wayne of Lenoir, Sandra Gilbert of Lenoir, and Gail Curtis and husband John of Morganton; brothers, David Green of Morganton and Danny Green of Wilkesboro; sisters, Mary Ellen Blankenship of Wilkesboro, Joyce Osborne of Hiddenite, and Georgie Howell of Virginia; eleven grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.

A funeral service for Mrs. Adams will be held on Thursday, May 21, at 2:00 p.m., at Poarch Chapel Missionary Methodist Church with Rev. Wallace Smith and Rev. Danny Carr officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the church, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Hartland Missionary Methodist Church.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Bobby Jo McCarty, Scott Greene, Chris Stump, James Palmer, Tim Southers, and T. J. Poarch. Honorary pallbearers will be Keith Phelps, Hylan Fox, and Dale Walker. The family requests that memorials be made to Poarch Chapel Missionary Methodist Church 3580 Playmore Beach Road, Lenoir, NC 28645.
