Carrie Elizabeth Cantley, 89, of Beckley, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2020. Carrie was a member of North Beckley Church of Christ and a 1949 Graduate of Sophia High School. She was a homemaker and a caregiver to many.
Born March 27, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Earl Stanley Pate (1899-Deceased) and Nannie Bell Goodman-Pate (1906-Deceased). In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Robert Cantley (1928-2016) whom she married on April 12, 1952 in Sophia, Raleigh County, WV (per WV Marriage License Register, Raleigh County, WV, 1952, Page 18, Application Date: March 29, 1952); brother, Elton Stanley Pate (1927-1962); and great niece, Bobbie Lilly (Deceased).
Carrie is survived by her nephew, Raymond Pate & wife Cheryl Pate; nieces, Kathy Pate, Mickie Pate-Yurick & husband Bob Yurick, Kathy Pate-Ackerman & husband Gary Ackerman; great niece, Crystal Arrington; great-great nieces, Marissa Arrington, Kyra Arrington, Haylie Arrington, and Piper Arrington.
Services will be at 1:00 pm on Thursday, May 21, 2020 in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Jerry Stumpf officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
