MEADVILLE – Sidney S. Holland, 73, died Feb. 28, 1990, in his residence in Meadville.

Services were 3 p.m. Friday in Bude Church of God, Bro. Timmy Whittington and Bro. Paul Barker officiated. Burial was in Byrd's Chapel Church of God. Parker's Franklin Funeral Home of Meadville had charge.

Mr. Holland was born May 3, 1916, in Franklin County. He was the son of Willie P. Holland and Ethel Gammill Holland.

He was a retired logger, a U. S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of Bude Church of God.

Mr. Holland was preceded in death by four brothers, Lamar Holland, Stewart Holland, Robert Holland and James Holland.

He is survived by his wife, Pearl Holland of Meadville; five brothers, Bertram Holland, Joe Holland, and Donald Holland, all of Meadville, his youngest brother of Natchez and Jack Holland of Rossville, Georgia; one sister, Alice H. Calcote of Natchez; one step-daughter, of Natchez, two step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Herbert Thornton, Gary Thornton, Keith Holland, Jimmy Dale Edwards, Kenny Joe Holland, and Dalton Sumrall.
