Norma J. Godsey, 89, of Bluffton passed away on Tuesday morning, July 28, 2020, at River Terrace Estates in Bluffton.
Norma was born on December 5, 1930 in Wells County, Indiana to Kenneth & Ruth (Harter) Zimmerman. A lifelong resident of Wells County, Norma graduated in 1949 from Petroleum High School. She worked as a driver for the Wells County Council on Aging, provided home health care, worked at the G.C. Murphy Store as a head cashier, and at the Wells Community Hospital.
Norma was a member of the Mulberry Street Wesleyan Church in Bluffton and recently attended Sonlight Wesleyan Church.
On June 3, 1950 in Wells County, Norma and Arthur Breedlove were married. He preceded her in death on December 23, 1977. On July 13, 1991 in Liberty Center, Ohio, Norma married Ernest “Ernie” Godsey and he preceded her in death on July 26, 2007.
Survivors include her children: Sharon (Jorge Howard) Binegar of Fort Wayne, David (Judy) Breedlove of Dickinson, TX, Richard (Scott Bradley) Breedlove of Fort Wayne, Tom (Faith Hilty) Breedlove of Bluffton, Joyce (Tim) Mayer of Vevay, and Janice (Donnie) Cunningham of Vevay, IN. and stepchildren: Judy (Vernon) Baker of Fort Wayne, Helen (Jeff) Gallant of Fort Wayne, IN. and a step daughter-in-law, Cathy Godsey of Fort Wayne.
Norma is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, a brother, Rev. Paul (Marilyn) Zimmerman of Washington Court House, OH and a sister, Carol Carnes of Bluffton.
Norma is preceded in death by her parents, husbands, a brother James Zimmerman and a step-son, Alan Godsey and a grandson, Phillip Erin Binegar.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday (August 1, 2020) at the Thoma/Rich, Lemler Funeral Home in Bluffton with Pastor Lyle Breeding officiating. Burial will follow at the Alberson Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held from 3 to 7 P.M. on Friday (July 31, 2020) at the Thoma/Rich, Lemler Funeral Home in Bluffton and for one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
Memorials may be made to the Sonlight Wesleyan Church or World Gospel Mission.
