John Owen Trask of Miami died Tuesday, June 5, 2007, at his home. He was 70.
Mr. Trask was born Sept. 10, 1936, in Ottawa to Mack and Virginia (Huxall) Trask. He attended War College in Arlington, Va. He received an associate's degree from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College in Miami in 1976.
He was a veteran of the Army Security Agency until his retirement on Aug. 18, 1974. He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans.
He married Patricia L. Ayres on Aug. 17, 1963, in Miami. She survives, of the home.
Additional survivors include two sons, David Wayne Trask, of the home, and Billy Wayne Trask of Moore; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Geraldine Ramsey, and two infant brothers.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami with the Rev. Geoff Buffalo officiating. Burial will be in Bluejacket Cemetery.
Military rites will be conducted by the Fort Sill Honor Guard.
Pallbearers will be Patrick Ramsey, Michael Ramsey, Anthony Williams, Larry Gatewood, Bob Keinbor, Brad King, Red Grenager and Jack Trask. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Ayres, Roger Ayers and John Brock.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to Heaven and Earth Hospice in care of the funeral home.
