Mozelle Wilson was born in Blue Ridge, Collin County, Texas 4 November 1914. She was a gifted pupil, winning prizes at school for her writing. She met and married Charles Ferguson in Oklahoma, and they moved to California in 1940. Arriving first in Los Angeles, the couple settled in Long Beach where they raised their family.
Mozelle later lived in Hawaii, and then returned to California where she passed away in 1982. She was a poet and published author, and a talented homemaker. Following her death, Mozelle's ashes were scattered by her children on July 1982 in San Diego County's Cuyamaca Rancho State Park. In 2000, her former husband Charles's ashes were spread near hers.
