The death of Mr. Eric Melin occurred Thursday February 12th and was a sad shock to this community. Mr. Melin contracted influenza which develop into pneumonia, which together with heart disease was the cause of his death.

Late Abraham Erick Melin was born March to, 1870 at Gnarp, Gefelborgs in Sweeden. He was baptized and confirmed in Sweden. In the year 1908 he left his native country and came to Cambridge. He became a member of the local Swedish Lutheran Church August 8th 1908. The following year May 15th 1910 he was married to mrs. Elizabeth England nee Bergman, which Union was blessed with one child.

In his youth he learned the watch makers craft and also pursued this trade here for 12 years in connection with a jewelry store. Shortly after his arrival here he was employed by Oscar Holmes, than a jeweler in this city. Upon his departure Mr. Holmes sold the store to Mr. Melin and which business he carried on until his death.

He complained of late on account of a weak heart and was seriously ill only a short time. He died last Thursday at 4 a.m. and was at the time of his death 49 years, 11 months, and 10 days of age. He leaves besides his wife and son Oscar William, step-children Mrs. Arthur Johnson, Victor England and Martin England Six Brothers three sisters and a stepbrother in Sweden besides a large number of friends in this city and vicinity.

Funeral services were held on Saturday at 4 from the Berglund undertaking parlors. the funeral was private. Rev. Edblom of the Lutheran Church officiated and interment was made in the Lutheran Cemetery. The pallbearers were KJ Kihlgren, John A. Olund, Erick Erickson, GW Carlson, and AE Lofstrom, and Dan Olson.

Mr. Melin will always be remembered for his Pleasant disposition. He was a man who was always willing to serve his friends to the best of his ability and was known to be courteous to all. The surrounding ones of the deep sympathy in their bereavement
