Funeral services for Mr. Donald Lee "Don" Willingham were held on Saturday, December 13, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Jewett. Dr. D. Scott Willingham officiated. Interment followed the services at Sardis Cemetery near Jewett.
Serving as pallbearers were Don’s Grandsons and Grandsons-in-law: Matt Willingham, Travis Wright, Grant Willingham, Luke Walton, John Walton, Kyle Shelton, and Chris Pagonis. Honorary pallbearers were the boys who worked on the Circle W Ranch.
Mr. Willingham passed away on Monday, December 8, 2014, at his residence near Jewett. Don was born in Newby, Texas in 1930; graduated from Jewett High School in 1948; served in the U.S. Army from 1952-1954 as Sgt. Major; and graduated Sigma Iota Epsilon in 1957 from University of Houston with a Bachelor of Business Administration. He was employed with Houston Lighting & Power for 17 years as an Accountant and Manager of Data Processing. In 1968, he launched and presided as President of TRES Utilities Systems which designed computer systems for utility companies. In 1971 he sold his stock shares in TRES Utilities Systems, retired from business, moved to Jewett, Texas and began ranching.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie Willingham of Jewett; daughter & son-law, Karen & Tim Wright of Katy; son & daughter-in-law, Dr. Don Scott & Lori Willingham of Midlothian; daughter & son-in-law, Lee Ann & Rev. Mark Walton of Weeki Wachee, Florida; ten grandchildren, Kelly Pagonis & husband Chris, Travis Wright, Matthew Scott Willingham & wife Kayla, Anna Shelton & husband Kyle, Grant Willingham & wife Ericka, Bethany Walton, Amy Walton, Luke Walton, Christy Walton, and John Walton; four great-grandchildren, Jack Willingham, Aurora Willingham, Emery Shelton, and Scarlett Willingham; one sister, Arnell Williams of Anderson; four brothers, Clovis (Pete) Willingham of Camp Creek, Hayse Willingham & wife Jackie of Frankston, Melvin Ray Willingham & wife Beth of Angleton, and Wyndle Willingham & wife Valetta of Lake Jackson; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mr. Willingham was preceded in death by his parents, Emett & Earl Willingham; three brothers, Emmett (Pat) Willingham, Ervin Willingham, and Arvol Willingham; and two sisters, Maye James, and Faye Childress.
