Kenneth "Ken" Omholt, 75, of Great Falls, an Army and Air Force veteran, died of natural causes Tuesday June 3, 2008 at a local nursing home.

Survivors include his wife, Charmaine Omholt of Great Falls; daughters Kathy (Colin) Maynard and Kay Montague of Great Falls and Laurie (Terry) Philipps of Conrad; a son, Shawn (Cindy) Omholt of Little Rock, Ark.; brother Ralph Omholt of Kirkland, Wash.; sisters Karen (Mel) Saunders of King Salmon, Alaska, and Julie (David) Jedlicka of Naknek, Alaska; and grandchildren Geoffrey (Michelle) Maynard, Kelly Maynard, Josh Philipps, Justin Philipps and Erik Montague.

Ken was born Aug. 27, 1932, in Great Falls, Mont., the son of Arnold S. and Ruby June (McKenzie) Omholt,
He was raised and educated in Fort Shaw and Simms. He served two years in the Army, then enlisted in the Air Force and served 20 years, living in various places during his career.

He married Charmaine Martinson in October 1951 in Conrad, Mont.; they later divorced. Ken then married Peg Shaughnessy, and from this union, a son, Shawn Omholt, was born. He remarried Charmaine Omholt in April 1980 in Conrad.

Ken was employed with Sears for many years, retiring in 1994.

He was very involved with the Moose Lodge on state and local levels, serving as governor and on the ritual team. His hobbies included collecting coins, and when he was young, he enjoyed hunting and was also a very good dancer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Diane Sheffer; and a brother, Lonnie McCurdie.
