Services for Mildred A. Lyons, 84, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Rumsey Funeral Home with the Rev. Lowell Thuma officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Lyons died Tuesday at Babcock Place, Lawrence.
Mrs. Lyons had worked at the Douglas County Courthouse, later at John's Novelty Shop and then at DeLuxe Sirloin Restaurant.
She was born Aug. 21, 1905, in Topeka. She moved to Lawrence at an early age, attended New York Elementary School and was graduated from Liberty Memorial High School in 1923. She also attended Lawrence Business College.
Mrs. Lyons was a member of First Christian Church and Rebekah Lodge in Lawrence and the American Association of Retired Persons.
She was married to William Francis Lyons in Wichita. He died in 1956.
Survivors include five daughters, Juanita I. Nowland, Bellingham, Wash., Betty Lou Brown, Santa Rosa, Calif., Lora Lee Sample, Mission, Helen June Foskett, Lenexa, and Patricia Hodges, Ottawa; a sister, Marian Spann, Wellsville; 22 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Rumsey Funeral, where the family will receive friends from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Friday.
The family suggests memorials, which can be sent in care of the funeral home, either to Kansas State University's Center for Basic Cancer Research or to the American Diabetes Assn.
