Joyce Gearhart Brown 77 passed away peacefully at her home in Bolton after a lengthy illness on Wednesday, November 15, 2006. Services are 10 AM Saturday, November 18, 2006 in the chapel at Lakewood Funeral Home. Visitation is tonight from 5-8 PM and after 9 AM Saturday. Burial is in Lakewood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Brown was a longtime resident of Bolton, daughter of Walter and Iva Gearhart. She was a Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a retired bookkeeper from the Hinds County School Board. She was a member of the Bolton Methodist Church and Crossroads of Life Church and attended Day Springs Community Church.
Mrs. Brown devoted her life to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her son Bill Brown and wife Mary of Clinton; daughters Lynda D'Angelo and husband Tony of Waco, TX; Raye Alford of Diamondhead; Marianna Bullard and husband Larry of Shreveport, LA; Edna Ammons of Clinton; and Barbara Fowler of Brandon; eleven grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the MS. Animal Rescue League 4395 South Dr.; Jackson, MS 39209 or to the Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi 16 Northtown Dr.; Jackson, MS 39211.
