MORRISON - Frank C. Ward, 94, of Morrison, IL, died Wednesday, May 13, 2020, at Resthave Home, in Morrison.
There will be a private family graveside service at Oak Knoll Memorial Park, in Sterling, IL, officiated by Pastor Carol Soderholm of First Lutheran Church of Jordan, Sterling.
The Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Frank was born June 9, 1925, in Morrison, to Jay H. and Susie M. (Hart) Ward.
He was educated in the rural Whiteside County grade schools and was a graduate of Morrison High School. He attended the University of IL at Galesburg, IL. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, serving in the Pacific Theater during WWII, on the USS California. On September 7, 1957, he married Leona M. Stern in Sterling. She died on January 31, 2020. Frank farmed in the rural Morrison area for 45 years. Most recently he was employed as a custodian at the Whiteside County Courthouse. He was a member of First Lutheran Church of Jordan and served on the church's council. He was also a member of Whiteside County Farm Bureau and Morrison American Legion. Frank enjoyed reading, hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his wife; a granddaughter-in-law, Lisa Ward; one brother, Jay Ward, Jr..
