On 1st March 1877 at the home of her parents at Drumnaboy, she married Alexander LECKY/LECKEY, widower, clerk, of Fitzroy Crescent, Belfast.
The marriage witnesses were her siblings Mary Hood and Thomas LOWTHER.
Bessie was the third born and second daughter of the eleven children of Walter Johnson LOWTHER and Elizabeth JACK.
Alexander and Bessie's only child, a daughter, Elizabeth Maude LECKY, was born on 28th November, 1878 at Drumnaboy
Alexander died of cancer, at their home at 1 Fitzroy Crescent, Belfast on 3rd November, 1881 and he is buried in the Belfast City Cemetery, Belfast.
Bessie emigrated to New Zealand and married James REID on 16th August 1883. Their only son James Arthur, was born 28 July 1884. He died on 12 Dec 1943.
