Bushman, Carolyn Kay 72 {09/27/1937 07/21/2010) An amazing wife, mother, and friend, Carolyn passed Wednesday July 21, 2010, surrounded by family. Born in Cortez, Colo., she moved to Oregon as a young girl and graduated from Washington High School (1955). A talented artist; china, water, and oil painting; sewing; and basket weaving were among her many media. As a community volunteer she was on the PTA for McKay Elementary School, Jesuit Auction fund raiser, Beaverton High drama momma, and enthusiast for Artist Repertory Theater. A true daughter of the Southwest, Carolyn was most at home in the desert. From Arches to Santorini, Bahia Kino to Hawaii she was in her element in the warmth. As a member of the Mazama's, her love for the outdoors took her from Cascade peaks to rafting the Grand Canyon. A longtime resident of Beaverton, Carolyn is survived by her husband, Bill; children, Mary, Julie, Bill Jr., and Nancy; grandchildren, Brook and Caitlin; and sister, Faith. A celebration of her life will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2010, in The Laurelhurst Club, 3721 S.E. Ankeny, Portland (casual attire). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or Grand Canyon River Guides. A special thanks to the Hopewell Hospice House for their truly special care. Carolyn will be remembered as an inspiration by all who knew her.
