Rev. Curtis Gwen Altom the son of Marvin Altom and Mary Ann Walker Altom was born in Floral, Arkansas on May 20, 1934 and passed away in Heber Springs, Arkansas on May 11, 2020 at the age of 85 years.

He was a retired minister and served Pearson Palestine Baptist Church, Shiloh Crossroads Church, Flat Rock Church and last Post Oak Church. He was a veteran of the United States Navy enjoyed wood working and gardening.

He was preceded in death by his parents Marvin and Mary Ann Altom, his first wife Mae Altom, second wife Janice Altom and a brother Dean Altom. Survivors are his wife Joan Altom, son Robert John Cook and wife Gail, son Daniel James Cook, daughter Carolyn Maire Stansbury, son David Paul Cook and wife Lisa, daughter Kathryn Joan Shelton and husband Tim, daughter Sharon Alice Westerman and husband Larry ,daughter Patricia Whitcher and husband Russell, son Joseph Wood and wife Tammy, son Dale Altom and wife Judy, son Andrew Altom and wife Myra, sister Mary Lee Allen and husband Tom, sister Deborah Haun and husband Stan and brother Bobby Altom and wife Martha. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at Family Funeral Service from 6:00 until 8:00 PM and on Thursday, May 14, 2020 from 1:00 until 2:00 PM in the First Baptist Church of Heber Springs and funeral services will be at the church at 2:00 PM by Rev. Marty Sites with pallbearers members of the Faith Builders Sunday School Class. Burial will be in Pearson Cemetery.
