Mr. A.E. Andes Jr., 69, of 3072 Springfield Villas, Anderson, S.C. (formerly of Tazewell, Va.), died Monday, August 13, 2007 at AnMed Health Medical Center after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Born October 26, 1937 at home in Bluefield, Va., he was the son of the late Adrian Eugene Andes Sr. and Helen Stone Wharton.
Mr. Andes was a graduate of Graham High School Class of 1955 and 1958 graduate from the Medical College of Virginia School of Pharmacy. He was the owner and operator of Andes Professional Pharmacy in Tazewell and Pocahontas Pharmacy in Pocahontas, Va. He retired from CVS in Anderson, S.C. in 2002.
Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Carlene Creasy Andes, of the home; two daughters: Karen Andes McDaniel of Anderson and Angie Andes Kelley and her husband Tom of Anderson; one granddaughter, Dedra McDaniel Jones and her husband Bradley of Johnson City, Tenn.; two grandsons: Bryce and Layne Kelley of Anderson; one sister: Gloria Andes Kitts and her husband Carter of St. Albans and one niece, Claire Kitts Shea of Moneta, Va.
A Memorial Service will be held at Stras Memorial Episcopal Church in Tazewell, Va. at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 18th with the Rev. Russell Hatfield officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the Hunter House.
