Winfred Franklin “Frank” Hansen, Sr., age 97, passed away May 5, 2020 in Austin, TX. Frank was born November 7, 1922 in Fluvanna, TX to Hans Percival and Beulah Mae (Frizzell) Hansen. He was a member of the Kerlin-Lyerly American Legion Post #154 and was a World War II Veteran. Frank was also a longtime member of Solomon Masonic Lodge #484. He was a Citizen on Patrol for over 15 years with the Pflugerville Police Department. Frank loved dropping in at the PD, training new cadets or just doing whatever they needed him to do. The officers and staff of the Pflugerville Police Department were Frank's “family” to the end. Frank was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Pflugerville where he served as a Deacon.

One of Frank’s favorite things to do was sit in his garage and wave at neighbors as they passed by while waving the American flag; If he wasn’t there, the neighbors would get concerned about him. Frank married Edna Pearl Wofford in 1940 in Austin, TX and she preceded in him death in 2014. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Hans Percival and Beulah Mae Hansen; brother, Hugo Howard Hansen, Sr.; sisters, Jewel L. Hansen and Alfreda Pardee; and son, Winfred Franklin Hansen, Jr.

Frank is survived by his niece and caregiver, Bonnie Ruth Hansen Frohock of Pflugerville, TX and a host of other family and friends. He will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held Monday, May 11, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home. Funeral Services will begin at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 12, 2020 in The Memorial Chapel of Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home with interment following at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
