Florence I. Yelton, 91, Edinburgh, died Thursday at Todd-Aikens Health Center, Franklin.

Born Feb. 2, 1908, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Alfred Muck and Emma (Cutsinger) Rinehart Muck. She married Lowell Yelton on July 27, 1947, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 17, 1984.

Mrs. Yelton attended Mount Auburn School.

She was a member of Edinburgh First Christian Church, a charter member of Christian Women's Fellowship, a member of First Christian Church Bible Study Club, Blossom Booster Garden Club, Johnson County Antique Club, former member of Daughters of the American Revolution and Rebekah Lodge, Senior Citizens of Johnson County. She was a local historian and lecturer.

Survivors include one nephew, Kenneth Winn, Edinburgh.

She was preceded in death by a sister.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Edinburgh First Christian Church, with the Rev. Steve DeFields-Gambrel officiating.

Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Edinburgh.

Friends may visit from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home, Edinburgh, and from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church.

She was born Feb. 2, 1908, in Shelby County. Her parents were Alfred and Emma (Curtsinger) Rinehart Muck. She married Lowell Yelton on July 27, 1947. He preceded her in death, Nov. 17, 1984. Survivors include a nephew, Kenneth Winn of Edinburgh; a great-niece, Cynthia Stucky of Hope; a great-nephew, Douglas Winn of Edinburgh; and a great-great nephew, Brandon Allen of Hope. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Winn.

She attended Mount Auburn School.

She was a member of Edinburgh First Christian Chruch, First Christian Bible Study Club, Blossom Booster Garden Club and Johnson County Antique Club and she was a charter member of CWF.

She was a former member of DAR, Rebecca's and Senior Citizens of Johnson County.

She was a local historian and lecturer.
