Florina “Flossie” (Marshall) Wollam died peacefully at the Powell Valley Care Center on Jan. 21, 2017. She was 93.

Flossie was born Feb. 20, 1923, in Alliance, Nebraska, to Milo and Edith S. Marshall, the third of four daughters. The Marshall family moved to Powell in June of 1938, and then on to Lovell the following year.

On May 4, 1940, she married Roy Guy Royal in Red Lodge, Montana. Jerry Dean Royal was born to the couple on Feb. 28, 1941, but died in a freak accident on May 13, 1942. Subsequent to his birth and death, two daughters were born. The couple divorced in 1946, and Flossie went back to school a few years later and received her high school diploma from Lovell High School in 1951.

She worked for Bowman and Bowman, Attorneys, for five years and then moved to Cody, where she worked for the Ohio Oil Company as a secretary in the Geology Department until the office was closed. After its closing, she was hired as a manager for the Montgomery Ward store in Cody.

She married Ray Wollam on Oct. 21, 1960, and moved back to Powell. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed playing the piano for many of their organizations. She also enjoyed playing the organ and had played the accordion in her younger years. Her husband died in 1978. She remained in Powell until 1992 when she moved to Lovell for a short time. She moved back to Powell in 1994 and resided there until her death.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jerry, husband, Ray, parents, three sisters and a great-grandson, Kelly Richards.
