Gehrig Funeral to be Saturday
Early Resident of Area Dies at 82


Medford--Funeral services for Mrs. Chris Gehrig, 82, Medford will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Community Evangelical Church with the Rev. Fred Kollath officiating. The body will repose at the Ruesch Funeral Home beginning Friday morning. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

The former Anna Galler was born in Austria on July 2, 1875, and came to the United States with her parents in 1884 when she was nine years old. She lived in the towns of Medford and Browning. Her marriage to Chris Gehrig took place at Medford on Sept. 12, 1893. She was a member of the Evangelical Church and its Ladies Aid Society.

She is survived by her husband, five daughters: Mrs. A.H. (Mary) Lindow, Reedsburg; Mrs. Walter (Lydia) Rehbein, Medford; Mrs. Les (Rose) Swanborg, Rockford, Ill.; Mrs. Fred (Esther) Long, Jr., Medford; Mrs. Harold (Irene) Werner, Medford; seven sons: Otto and Harvey, Harry, Ben and Louis, Medford, and George of California.* 23 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Otto Galler, Medford; Henry Galler, Whittlesey, and two sisters, Marie Stallenwerk and Mrs. George Weinger, Milwaukee. Three sons preceded her in death.
